Winners Pastor regains freedom after 7 months in Boko Haram captivity (photos)

Pastor Moses Oyeleke, the Living Faith Church a.k.a Winners’ Chapel Pastor abducted by Boko Haram insurgents in May has regained his freedom after spending 7 months in captivity.

The Winners Pastor who was abducted alongside a corps member identified as Abraham Amuta while on their way to Chibok to evangelize and also distribute relief items to Internally Displaced Persons, was freed on Sunday November 10. A student of Government Science Secondary School in Askira Uba identified as Nnagilaya Umar, also regained her freedom same day.

Their freedom was facilitated by two non-governmental organisations: Initiative for Peace Building Movement and the Kalthum Foundation for Peace.

 

The Corps member, Abraham Amuta was not released by the insurgents who accused him of being stubborn to them. He is however expected to also regain his freedom in December.
