An Amber Alert has been issued for an 11-month-old girl who was last seen in Ottawa early Friday.
At around 3:50 a.m. at the request of the Ottawa Police Service, officials issued an Amber Alert for Abby Mathews.
It was alleged in the Amber Alert that the girl was abducted from the area of Pinecrest Road and Carling Avenue at around 1:55 a.m. by a woman named Miriam. Ottawa police reported in a tweet that the baby “maybe” with the woman, who was identified as her grandmother.
Mathews was described as being around two feet tall, weighing around 20 pounds, and having brown eyes and black hair with a feeding tube in her nose. She was last seen wearing a navy blue Montreal Canadiens onesie.
Miriam was described as being 70 years old and around five-foot-six, weighing around 130 pounds, and having grey hair. She was last seen wearing a winter coat.
It was initially reported the two might be traveling in a silver vehicle, but an update released by Amber Alert Ontario removed the vehicle’s color.

Global News contacted Ottawa police to get more information about the incident, but a spokesperson said an update wasn’t immediately available.
Anyone who sees Mathewsie and/or Miriam was asked to call 911 immediately.
